During the summer, we often make time to visit family and friends, take vacations, and enjoy activities that renew us.  We look forward to new experiences, travel, and adventure, and we often end our days happily exhausted.  Yet it is also during this season that people sometimes say, "I didn't have time to go to church."

When I hear that, I often ask, "If you didn't have time to go to church, did you at least make time to talk to God?"  Personal prayer and conversation with God do not replace our participation in the Eucharistic community, but they are a clear sign of what truly matters to us.

In Luke 5, we read: "But he would withdraw to deserted places to pray."  Jesus did this after calling His disciples, teaching the crowds, and healing the sick—a full day's work.  Even amid the demands of His ministry, He intentionally made time to be with His Father.  He understood that His relationship with the Father was the source of His strength.

So my question is this:  Are you making time for God during your busy summer schedule?

May we follow the example of the saints, who faithfully dedicated time each day to deepen their relationship with God.  From Him alone they drew the strength needed to labor in His vineyard with joy, perseverance, and love.

SYNOPSIS OF MEETING HELD JULY 15, 2026

·         ASSEMBLY 3210 MEMBERS NEED TO STEP UP FOR FUTURE OFFICER POSITIONS.  VETERAN OFFICERS WILL BE STEPPING DOWN FROM LONG TERM SERVICE.  BECOME AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF ASSEMBLY 3210.  BECOME AN OFFICER IN THE NEXT FRATERNAL YEAR.

·         Thanks to St Veronica Parish for sharing their meeting space with us during renovation of St Josaphat Parish House.

·         Special Guest, Dan Miller, Wisconsin Pro-Life and a 4th Degree Knight, presented a summary of the Safe Haven Baby Box Organization in Wisconsin.  Safe Haven Baby Boxes (SHBB) make it possible for a parent to safely surrender a newborn infant anonymously to a first responder agency who takes the infant to a medical facility for evaluation, then transfers the infant to WI Department of Child Services for adoption.  Assembly 3210 is considering a program that would be shared with Area 2 Assemblies and would fund the purchase and installation of a Baby Box at a Milwaukee Fire Department location.  Assembly 3210 SK Timothy Salamon has taken lead on this project and has made initial communication with the Milwaukee Fire Department to set up a fire station location.  Dan Miller explained the path for providing an active Baby Box which includes Lease and Service Agreement among SHBB, the financial donor, and the receiving location.  SHBB has policies for third party (KofC) fundraising.  Direct donation to SHBB would be tax deductible.  Expense for Baby Box purchase including construction, delivery, installation, alarms and monitoring, and annual service fees were explained.  For Wisconsin, estimates were given for:  construction at $16, 500, delivery at $600, installation at $3,500, alarms and monitoring at $1,200, and annual maintenance service fee at $600.  Further discussions will consider which Assemblies will participate, financial commitment from each Assembly, other sources of contribution, duration of fundraising, determination of person in charge to enter agreements, and willingness to complete the $21,800 project with annual $600 maintenance fees.  Information handouts further explained details for initiation of a project.  The general consensus of the Assembly 3210 members is that this is a worthy project that will bring blessings to the Knights of Columbus.

·         Assembly 3210 achieved STAR ASSEMBLY status for Fraternal Year 2025-2026.  The 17th continuous year of a full slate of new officers at Assembly 3210 begins with Installation of Officers on July 22 at the Council 1709 Clubhouse.

·         Clergy Night is planned for Nov 19 at Council 1709.

·         Eastern Wisconsin District Faithful Master SK Jack Wrbanich asks: What does it truly mean to be a Fourth Degree Sir Knight?

·         The Fourth Degree is about far more than ceremony—it is about answering the call to serve the Church wherever we are needed.  Patriotism is not simply honoring the past but caring for those who continue to bear the cost of our nation's freedom today.  Sometimes the most meaningful acts of patriotism are also the quietest.  Willingness to serve beyond district boundaries speaks volumes about character and commitment.  Honor Guards serving at parish celebrations, Assemblies planning upcoming events, leaders preparing for Landing Day, recruiting efforts already underway for our September Exemplification are all measures of meaning.  Faith. Patriotism. Service.

·         Area 2 upcoming events:

·         Stars and Stripes Honor Flights at General Mitchell International Airport in 2026 are scheduled for Saturday September 12,  Saturday October 10,  and Saturday November 7.  Save the dates and participate when possible.

·         Honor Guard:  Irish Fest Mass Aug 16 at Meier Festival Grounds;  Close of 75th Anniversary St Matthias Sep 13 10:00 am Mass (Cardinal Timothy Dolan presiding);  Area 2 Joint Corporate Communion Sep;  Red Mass on Oct 06 at Cathedral of St John;  White Mass 9:00 am on Oct 17 at St Dominic’s Church in Brookfield;  Hales Corners Veteran’s Day Memorial Nov 08;  Women of Christ Nov 21 at the Brookfield Conference Center.

·         The 2026 Sendik’s Food Kiosk fundraiser is scheduled for Jul 24, Aug 21, and Sep 25.  Success will depend on ACTIVE PARTICIPATION by members:  3 volunteers are needed for each event from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  PLEASE PLAN TO PARTICIPATE!   Contact SK Mark at mganhalt@wi.rr.com for details.

·         Plans for the annual Turkey Raffle are underway.  Get ready to sell tickets!

·         Financial assistance for 4th Degree uniforms is officially available for new Honor Guard participants who agree to terms of the official Contract for Assistance.

·         A voucher system is instituted for any request for charitable funding greater than $500.  Review and approval by Officers are required.

·         MOTION:  For $100 to support the Xaverian Missionaries Family Retreat Aug 20 – 22, 2026 is approved by unanimous consent.

·         Fifth Sunday ushering for noon Mass at Basilica of St Josaphat is scheduled for Aug 30, 2026.  Help as you are able.
